In Poland, around 5 million tonnes of food are wasted every year. As much as 60% of this comes from households — about 3 million tonnes of discarded food per year. 45% of Poles admit to throwing food away at least occasionally. The most commonly discarded products are cold cuts (36%), vegetables (34%), and fruit (30%).
