"Night Birds" at the Opole Photography Festival

A selection from the series "Night Birds Come Home Late" was presented at the Institute of Creative Photography (Institut tvůrčí fotografie) exhibition during the Opole Photography Festival. Warm thanks to Vladimír Birgus for showing the works, and to the whole team that mounted this vast exhibition: Vladimír Birgus, Arkadiusz Gola, Michał Szalast, David Macháč, Miroslav Zeman and Lukáš Lamla. The series tells the story of people who, from Monday to Friday, live within the rigour of social roles — going to work or university, keeping face, holding their emotions in check. But when the weekend evening comes, the streets turn into a stage where all inhibitions fall away. Documenting this weekly ritual, I keep asking one essential question about their identity: in the chaos of the night, do they finally drop their everyday masks and become fully themselves? Or is the street just another stage, where they take on a new weekend role — the unbridled reveller? Exhibition photos: Maria Książek and Maks Skrzeczkowski.

Admission to the Union of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF) — the oldest and most prestigious association of art photographers in Poland, founded in 1947. In December 2025 the ZPAF Artistic Council admitted a group of eight new members, including six to the Warsaw Branch.

A personal photographic record of struggle with depression. The project was born from the need to break the social taboo around mental illness and to reach others fighting similar battles — with the conviction that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but of courage.
DIAS SHOW — XI FotoArtFestival laureate
Foto Art Festival, Bielsko-Biała
Distinction in the international multimedia competition DIAS SHOW during the 11th edition of Foto Art Festival in Bielsko-Biała. The "Labirynt" series was among nine winning works. Laureates receive the opportunity to organise a solo exhibition at the B&B Photography Gallery or during a future festival edition. DIAS SHOW combines photography with music and narration, presenting dynamic image sequences on a large screen.

Group exhibition — the fruit of one year's work by eleven students of the ZPAF School of Photography under the guidance of Jolanta Rycerska. The Decalogue — as theme and common denominator — led the authors to visual analyses of values, both historical, embedded in our culture, and those currently being reworked under dynamic social change.
